1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the public Bitelist website and the general Bitelist platform. By using Bitelist, you agree to use it lawfully and in accordance with these terms.

2. About Bitelist

Bitelist is a local restaurant-discovery platform operated by Bitelist Group Ltd. It includes restaurant listings, area and cuisine discovery, editorial content, BiteCard information, Bitelist Business and related services.

3. Restaurant listings and information

We take reasonable steps to keep restaurant information useful and accurate, but restaurant details can change and some information comes from restaurants, public datasets or other third-party sources. We do not guarantee that every listing, menu, opening time, price, availability, offer or other detail is complete or current. You should confirm important details directly with the restaurant where necessary.

4. Editorial content

Best Of guides, Northern Lad Eats Approved recognition and other editorial recommendations reflect editorial judgement. Restaurants cannot buy inclusion or position in editorial recommendations. Paid commercial placements, where used, are kept separate from editorial recommendations and should be identified as commercial placements.

5. Restaurant claims and Bitelist Business

Restaurant representatives must provide accurate information and must be authorised to act for the business they claim or manage. Bitelist may request evidence or carry out checks before connecting an account to a restaurant. Access credentials must be kept secure and must not be shared with unauthorised people.

Permanent listing changes and restaurant-submitted content may be moderated before publication. Bitelist may reject, edit, remove or delay material where reasonably necessary for accuracy, safety, legal compliance or platform integrity.

6. BiteCard

Restaurant participation, offer approval and redemption are subject to the BiteCard rules shown through the relevant restaurant and member journeys. Paid BiteCard membership, payment, renewal, cancellation and refund terms will be presented separately before a customer purchases or activates a paid membership. These Website Terms do not replace those specific member terms.

BiteCard offers are provided by participating restaurants subject to the published offer conditions, availability and exclusions. Restaurants remain responsible for the food, service and fulfilment they provide.

7. Partner Services

Bitelist Partner Services are optional paid services provided separately from access to Bitelist Business or BiteCard participation. A quotation, order, statement of work or other written agreement may contain additional terms and will take priority for the specific service it covers.

8. Creator and referral relationships

Northern Lad Eats is the founding creator identity behind Bitelist. Other creators may have separate relationships with Bitelist, including BiteCard referral arrangements. A referral relationship does not make a creator a founder, owner or editorial decision-maker unless Bitelist expressly states otherwise.

9. Your use of Bitelist

You must not misuse Bitelist. In particular, you must not knowingly provide false information, impersonate another person or business, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with security or availability, introduce malicious code, scrape or systematically extract protected platform content in breach of law or these terms, or use Bitelist for unlawful or fraudulent activity.

10. Content you provide

You must have the right to provide any text, photographs, logos, menus or other material you submit. You grant Bitelist a non-exclusive licence to host, reproduce, resize, format and display submitted material to operate and promote the relevant Bitelist listing, product or service. You retain ownership of your original material.

11. Intellectual property

Bitelist branding, software, page designs, databases, original editorial content and other protected material belong to Bitelist Group Ltd or its licensors unless stated otherwise. Nothing in these terms transfers those rights to you.

12. Third-party services and links

Bitelist may link to restaurant websites, maps, social networks, payment services and other third-party services. Those services are controlled by their respective providers and may have their own terms and privacy notices.

13. Availability and changes

We may change, improve, suspend or withdraw parts of Bitelist as the service develops. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability, although we aim to maintain a reliable service.

14. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, Bitelist Group Ltd is not responsible for losses caused by reliance on restaurant information that has changed, acts or omissions of restaurants or other third parties, or events outside our reasonable control. If you use Bitelist for business purposes, we are not liable for indirect or consequential business losses except where a separate written agreement says otherwise.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Bitelist develops. The latest version and update date will be published on this page. Material changes affecting paid products will be handled in accordance with the specific product terms and applicable law.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes relating to these terms.
